European Motors moved from downtown Salt Lake City into the old Murray fire station in October of 1974, selling BMW's as well as Alpha Romero, Fiat, Lancia, MG, Triumph and Jaguar. In the late seventies European Motors discontinued selling the English and Italian cars, changed the name of the dealership to BMW of Murray, and became an exclusive dealer for BMW USA. BMW of Murray, Owned by the John H. Firmage family, Is the exclusive dealer for BMW in Salt lake City, Bountiful, and all of Utah and on May 16th 2007 celebrated the Grand opening of BMW of Pleasant Grove, a second location. Over the last 33 years BMW of Murray has grown from selling 3 models of BMW to providing more than 30 models. The physical plant has had 4 major remodels, expanding to a campus, which includes the original fire station, and seven other buildings. The staff has increased from five to over 160. The Best part is, that through all this growth the 160 employees at BMW of Murray are as enthusiastic and committed to serving the BMW driver as those original nine were 33 years ago.
